Katie & Miguel
Katie and Miguel had a courthouse elopement last year. This year, exactly one year from that day, they planned a beautiful wedding celebration with all of their friends and family (and their sweet little daughter Luna!). I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph it - I had to say YES!
Both the ceremony and reception was held at the Stimson Green Mansion, a historic home in the First Hill neighborhood built in 1901. It feels like you're walking through a gateway into another world; Immaculate trimmings and wood floors, beautiful art, large staircases and hidden passageways.
Since Katie and Miguel had already exchanged rings last year, they instead created a Time Capsule that they intend on opening up 5 years from now (or longer!)... aaannnnddd cue the tears! They each wrote a love letter for each other and asked everyone in attendance to write them a little something, too. If that wasn't enough of a highlight, they also had a dear friend play the hurdy gurdy! If you don't know what that is, here's a link to a video. I personally think it's one of the most beautifully-sounding instruments I've ever heard.
The rest of our time together was spent capturing portraits of Katie and Miguel and some family formals before the party started.
Thank you so much, Katie and Miguel, for trusting me, and for giving me the opportunity to be your wedding photographer! You have the most amazing family and I feel so grateful to have been a part of it.
