A Week in Florida
The ocean always has a way of soothing my soul in ways that I didn’t even know I needed.
I didn’t end up taking as many photos I had originally intended to last week, but I think that’s also a good thing. It’s what I needed. Sometimes spending too much time behind the camera takes us away from actually living life. I didn’t want to live my experiences through a lens, but actually enjoy them free from the need to document every moment as it took place.
Last week in Florida visiting my parents has definitely brought my need of spending more time in the present moment to the surface (in a good way!), either through meditation, exercising at the gym, writing, planning and organizing strategies for my businesses (although I didn’t spend too much time dealing with work-related things), reading, or spending quality time with my family. Those are the things that are most important to me.
Now that I’m back home in the PNW, my appreciation for those small things is augmented. I immediately signed up for a gym membership close to home, started hustling for my businesses again (I also have an herbal apothecary shop on Etsy that has been temporarily closed since I moved out West), and I feel so much more… at peace. That really is the best way I can describe it.
